The number one question I seem to get in emails is “What happened to the Sheriff?”
I have to be honest and say that I’m surprised some people cared and weren’t just glad he left already. LOL
There’s a scene toward the end of the story where it seems he sort of disappears, but he doesn’t. People like that never go away quietly. If they are determined to see you fall from ‘grace’, they’re going to make damn sure it happens one way or another and that they are around to see it and smirk and sneer and point and laugh with utter glee. Since I’m writing a series, I left his presence open-ended in book one, meaning he could come back at any time in later books and royally (heh) screw with the Belarus clan.
Particularly, in the second book of the series, the Sheriff is [SPOILER ALERT/Highlight to read] still trying to take Cinder down for the murder of Willem and this time, Cinder doesn’t necessarily have Norvack to back her up as she did in the first book. Two months have passed since “Seduction” ended and so many things have happened, personally, to Cinder which has driven her to sort of push Norvack away and seek solace elsewhere. [END SPOILER ALERT]
I don’t want to give it all away, but “Book Two” hasn’t been easy to write. Actually, I have two more planned books following that one (for a grand total of four in the series, thus far), and just from writing synopses of each, those aren’t easy either. Some worthy people die, some unworthy people live. Some people get away with crimes, while others suffer unjustifiably, just like in real life. But it didn’t stop the tears from flowing from time to time.
The bottom line of this post was to say, don’t worry! If you’ve got questions, I’ve got answers for anything (almost). If plot lines were left dangling in “Seduction”, rest assured they will be answered and fleshed out in upcoming books. If the ending seemed final, but not “finished”, trust me, it’s getting there! I just want you to know, it’s not over! This is only the beginning and I hope you enjoy the ride it takes to get there, much like I am!
The second book in the Royal Chronicles of Denmark Series is slated to be released next year. I’ve titled each book but will wait to release the title closer to each release month/date.
Or not, I don’t know. It depends more on how I feel in the moment. And how much I’ve had to drink when deciding.
For any questions at all, even (and especially) story related, feel free to email me at kikileach@hotmail.com
