Blue + Inspiration = Bluespiration... You get it. Anywho! It took me awhile, but I think I finally found my Blue! Now he's younger than I'd like, a wee bit taller than he should be, his eyes are a different color than written and his hair is much longer than Blue's will ever get...  BUT. BUT. BUT. BUT . I'd seen him before ( long before I penned a single Shadow Riders book ) but when I kept thinking about Blue and what he looked like, a face similar to this is what kept popping up. Just an FYI! "Code Blue" picks up where "Inflamed" left off, with Blue and Snake ( who has come to pick him up from the wedding ) driving back home to Crescent Beach, while River spends time with Mia outside of the hospital for some honeymoon time. *Ahem* Now, it's not *required* to read "Inflamed" first, BUT, it might help to get acquainted with it in order to have a grip on the characters and the situations ( as well as dialog, language, etc. ) at hand. I write out of order and never manage to stick to my outlines unless I have full blown scenes written ( and even those will get cut from time to time if the story ends up flipping in a completely different direction, as it did with Inflamed and as I feel it will here ), and right now, I'm penning the prologue. And I realized that penning one book at a time REALLY works wonders for me creatively as opposed to writing so many stories at once. I am able to concentrate so much better, get all my ducks in a row, focus harder on characterization and flesh out a more authentic world and setting.  When I rush, the results are awful and it shows in the writing and story. Did you know...? The scene in which Mia & River finally talk about their feelings for each other and hook up was written about a month before nearly everything else that happened prior to it. Right after I wrote the prologue and first three chapters, there was a giant gap of 'stuff' that was supposed to happen, but I wasn't sure how to fill it because I didn't know what any of that 'stuff' would be. So I decided to move forward with other parts of the story until it finally hit me. That exact moment of their hook up came to me as I was writing another scene, and I just went with it, all while having zero clue as to how the hell they got to that point (given where they started)! It was only when I finished those scenes that I knew what I was building up to and how the story itself would come to an end. It amplified and intensified every conversation and encounter between them, hence the name of the book. I changed the cover three times in the hope of ...

Blue has a moment of 'clarity': "Shit sounds crazy as fuck comin' from an asshole like me, I know, but all I ever wanted in my entire goddamn life was to belong to somethin', Riv. One of the most difficult things to write for most authors is a love scene. At least, for me. LOL. You don’t want to sound mechanical, and yet you also don’t want to make a list that reads like the analysis of a science project.  Interestingly enough, writing intimate scenes between Mia and River came a little easier this time around. I’d never written a couple like them before; both of them were very intense, which made the attraction between them that much more... what’s the word?  Hm. I’m not sure, why don’t you tell me??? Anyway, this small paragraph is from Mia's POV during their first love scene. I loved writing this part in particular because it’s the exact moment when she realizes just how much River truly loves her. This is partially NSFW by the way! LOL: I grinded myself against him and opened my eyes to his face. His eyes were closed, his brows were furrowed, his nostrils flared and his jaw was locked up tight; he was hard, he was soft, his breath quickene...

I got more requests for Blue's book than any other character in INFLAMED combined. I knew I wanted to tell his story too, but I didn't know if others would feel the same way. But it's so great that you do! Tell me what you liked so much about him? I loved him from the first page, but I want to know YOUR thoughts on what made him so compelling to you as a character? The wit? The charm? Or the fact that he made you completely LOL? Now, be sure and pay close attention to the cover and title of this book because they are symbolic just like Inflamed ! BUT, don't freak out . Blue will get some good ol' fashioned lovin' in this book which WILL end with an HEA. Complications will arise because it wouldn't be the Shadow Riders MC if they didn't! ALOT has set me back over the last few weeks since my last post between edits and losing a *crucial* chunk of the book ( right at the center of it ) in an unexpected computer crash literally just a day after that last post. But I've been rewriting about 15-20k of the words that I lost, which has been stressful and hair pulling because I can usually zip through them, but this book has been different. On top of it, I also lost crucial notes as well, so I'm having to retool a lot. But I'm hoping that it turns out to be worth it in the end. Also, the book has a new cover that I feel better suits the story: I love this cover. I think out of all my books, it is my absolute favorite as is this story. Same synopsis: "I'm nothin' but danger, darlin'. I'm no more than death. I'm somebody that you don't wanna f%&kin' mess with in the middle of the goddamn night or even in the daytime. I'm your worst f%&kin' nightmar...

I love the holidays! Christmas is my favorite time of year. 2015 has been trying me left and right but I'm determined to celebrate the rest of the year in style. I told myself and mentioned in an earlier post that I wouldn't pen another novel this year ( mostly due to the stress of having written so many already back to back ), but I missed Vanessa and the crew and wanted to know what they would be up to over the holiday's. *Takes a deep breath* I've written a new book. An unconventional romance that is completely unlike anything I've ever written before. This story took me on a journey of discovery and I learned about myself, about intolerance and about people. I stepped completely outside of the box to write this story and after a lot of soul searching, I'm glad that I finally did and am putting it out there. It won't be everyone's cup of tea and I understand that, which is why I've written it under a pen name. I need to be able to spread my wings as a writer and create stories outside of my comfort zone and more importantly, stories outside of the norm. I need to be able to sink into myself and really think about who I am and what I want and who I want to be. I'll be 30 years old in two weeks and I'm realizing that time is tick, tick, ticking away and I can't waste anymore of it by NOT doing the things I want to do or writing the books I want to write out of fear....

I've recently updated the cover of Miss Independent! I liked the last cover okay, but since I used real people for the covers of books 2 - 4, only "cartoonized", I wanted to have that same look for book 1 as well to give the series a more cohesive look. The paperback version will be updated shortly! I like this version a lot better because it reflects more of Vanessa's tone in this book. A little somber, a little bitter, a little angry. That's this book in a nutshell when it comes to her character. She's got a lot of, excuse my language, shit to work through in this book as well as the others, but this one shows the beginning of her journey. I can't wait to post the cover of book 5 to show just how far she's come since that very first page! I hope you all are enjoying Truth & Consequences ! Thank you to EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has continued to order and hold onto the book in draft form while waiting SO PATIENTLY for the final copy to arrive to your kindle!
