UPDATES! UPDATES! And a Truth & Consequences ONE WEEK BOOK DELAY!

Hey guys! I hate to even do this so late in the game, but due to some unfortunate issues, Truth & Consequences will be delayed and officially released on the 10 th of October . Now remember, it's just delayed , not cancelled or pushed back any further than that.  It’s still being published for any who may have concerns that it won't be ( trust me, I've worked too damn hard on this book and spent too many hours with these characters to not let you guys get your hands on it as soon as you can !), but it has to be pushed back. It… just has to. I sincerely wanted to get his book out there by next week (on Thursday, the 1 st ) as originally scheduled and as I told you guys, and told you guys, and told you guys that it would be. But truth be told, this book has taken me on a  really  big emotional journey that I wasn't expecting or prepared for, even up to these last few days. I went to places in this book that I didn't want to go, but places that I...

Official PRE ORDER INFO for Miss Independent 2: Decision Makers: UPDATED!

Before we get into all of that, bear with me (yes, this is because I want you to keep reading ): I just have to let you all know that I struggled ALOT while writing this book. Some parts more than others got to me personally and emotionally, but the truth of the matter is, I bawled penning certain parts and screamed before writing others. I really hadn't planned on acting like a total fool with this book but it was really difficult for me to write, a lot more difficult than the first book, and here's why: The characters went LEFT when I wanted and had planned for them to go RIGHT . That sounds silly. But with characters that become essentially too established in a fictional world, meaning they couldn't be changed so quickly and easily without work because they're pretty much like real people with their own thoughts and feelings, I had many conflicts as to where *I* wanted the characters to go in the story versus where THEY wanted to take ...

New FB page!

I'm thinking this might be easier to navigate: Facebook Like the page if you get a chance! I might be "ghost" on the blog for a bit as I finish the second book and continue with my day job. That said, I hope to update the FB page and my twitter as often as I can since I can navigate them a lot easier from my phone from time to time. Happy Reading!

Who, me?

I thought this was pretty cool! ( Wish I could fix the formatting, but it looks a mess when I try. Apologies !) I know the numbers can fluctuate just from doing my own searching for various books in various genre's, so who knows how long it will remain. But at the time of the screen shot, Miss Independent  was sitting at #85 under "African American Women's Fiction" on the Amazon UK Best Sellers list. Not sure how many sales I've generated thus far, but just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to anyone who has read it, recommended it, bought it and even those who returned it after realizing it wasn't for you. At least you tried it and maybe passed it on to a friend. LOL. I am in the middle of completing the second book in the series. I have the title, the story, the beginning/middle/end, which is good because it is also helping me to flesh out Book 3. I am currently filling in the blanks for the second installment and am having a blast in doing so! There is still ...

What Happened To Miss Independent?

Hi everyone! The story I've been working on is finally a finished product!     I love this cover a lot! I wavered between this and a set of diamond rings. The latter was really pretty, but it didn't really fit for the vibe I was going for, story wise. I feel like this cover really pulls the entire story together. Miss Independent is the first in a planned series and I am working on the second one as we speak (as well as my other stories, lol). The title and storyline were inspired by Kelly Clarkson's song with the same name. Originally the main character, Vanessa, was quite different. Then again, I first had the idea for the story when I was seventeen. Attempting to pen a twenty-something character at that age when I had not gone through enough experiences myself was not the easiest thing to do, so of course, a lot changed in that respect. Vanessa and company are probably my favorite of the characters I've written thus far, if only because they are similar to ...

Welcome to 2015!

Happy, happy, HAPPY New Year! So thankful for this year, it's unbelievable! Also very thankful for those that continue to buy my books and read this blog! In case anyone was wondering (I'm not exactly sure how many people really read this blog, but just in case, lol) I also write under the pen name, "Inez". I have two other books written under that name, though they are YA. You can find them here and here  !! They are both the first in planned series' (2 more books a piece). The Inner Circle will be listed as FREE tomorrow on Amazon Kindle, btw! I've changed the cover, which you can apparently only see while viewing a sample. As of now, the cover is just this generic looking thing that at the time, I felt was fitting, but the more I have looked at it, it just *looks* like a stock photo. And it is, but I don't want it to look like that. Anyway. Unfortunately, it will take me time to get around to finishing both of the second and third books (as wel...

Sneak Peek!

Well, HELLO! from the great beyond! Almost. My, my! March is almost over, April is in 4 days and I’ve been a very, very, busy woman since this new year started! Real life work is getting a bit hectic as many of my coworkers are moving on and I haven’t had time to blog for the life of me! Let alone tweet from my Royal Chronicles account! FWIW, I do tweet quite often on my general account @RealKDPFan4Eva. And when I say general, I mean it is general . I will tweet anything from books to authors I love to soap operas, (to soap writers), to Real Housewives, to and most importantly, Scandal. I also toss out a few random tweets here and there when the mood strikes. So follow me there if you choose! I literally answer everyone who sends me a tweet, good or bad :-). All that said, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things around here really, really, soon!!! Now that that randomness is out of the way, onto more important subject matters and the real reason I’ve risen from t...

I'll get the hang of this, eventually....

I initially started this blog because > insert shameless self promotion here < I've written a book. Well, a few. I started a blog in high school when I was going through my I HATE THE WORLD AND EVERYONE IN IT phase, but never kept up with it. And then, I started one in college when I was going through my HIPSTER/EMO phase, neither of which I ever really grew out of even now at 27 years young . Anyway, I constantly read how authors need a platform and need to get the word out about their books and need to promote and need to basically make themselves as known as possible to readers and bloggers and so on, especially self published like myself, as we have no "team", no "publicists", and no real way to advertise unless we pay for it, literally. And if one is like me, you try to save every single dime you can for most things often taken advantage of like gas and food and clean clothes. I've tossed out a few coins here and there for ads in the hopes t...
